In hindsight, I would say that I was lucky to find Dr. Vivek Venkat via a Google Search in Dec’24 when I had my elevated PSA score and was looking for a Urologist in Mumbai, given I was there for a few days before returning to Singapore, where I live. Dr. Vivek was extremely approachable, easy to converse with, took the time to explain the situation at hand, what the PSA score of 8.05 meant & possible treatment routes based on the outcomes of further tests. I thank him for prescribing a precautionary MRI, inspite of him being satisfied that the physical prostrate examination was normal. The MRI showed some suspicious tissue growth and I remember Dr. Vivek taking the time to explain very practically about the next steps, which was a TRUS biopsy to ensure we have the right diagnosis. The first biopsy I got done at Chennai, which indicated that the tissue growth is non-malignant & 6 months later when the PSA score increased to 10.95, I repeated the MRI, which showed similar patterns as previous MRI, but this time I got the MRI guided biopsy done under Dr. Vivek’s guidance & the biopsy confirmed a prostrate cancer with a high Gleason score of 8 (4+4). Dr. Vivek helped plan the PSMA PET scan & surgery exactly a month after the biopsy & I must say the robotic prostatectomy operation by Dr. Vivek was executed perfectly, the recovery has been swift and he and his team were actively tracking the progress. It’s been a little over a month and 20 days and I never had any pain, any issues with mobility or otherwise & have been back to my active self after the catheter was removed within 10 days of discharge from the hospital. I would recommend Dr. Vivek Venkat to anyone needing his services as he is not only a master of his craft but proactively educated the patient which helps settle anxiety, concern & fear.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
